Kiefer Sutherland seems to think that a strip club is a place for him to take off his own clothes. However, London's Stringfellows' bouncers weren't very amused and gave the 24 star the royal boot. It was about 3:30 in the morning at a club, when Mr. Sutherland thought that disrobing and acting crazy was the right thing to do before bouncers had enough and gave the actor an escort to the front door.
Stringfellow's is a favorite of many upscale clients. Recently, both American Idol's Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest paid a visit to one of the quaint ole' girly show places as well.
Peter Stringfellow, the flamboyant club owner owns a number of clubs in London and Paris. He was once a Hoover vacuum cleaner salesman, but then decided that naked women were more fun to market. Surprisingly, Stringfellow is a supporter of the Conservative Party in the UK, although he often finds himself at odds with their proposed social legislation that tightens laws on strip club licenses.
Of all the European nations, England already has some of the most restrictive adult entertainment licensing laws and regulations of any nation in that region. Many of London's adult film companies have since moved to Denmark or other nations because of the uptight legal environment that may even make the mere possession of some adult films with harder content a crime. The Conservatives in parliament have also moved to have strip clubs classified along with adult video stores and sex shops, making it harder to open new locations. Strip clubs in London were currently classified along with other pubs and drinking establishments. Peter Stringfellow has testified before parliament before urging them not to change the laws.
