Jeeps don't come too cheap, and new and redesigned 2011 Grand Cherokee will have a $32,995 base price for the most basic four wheel drive model, although a cheaper $30,995 two wheel drive model will also be available. But who wants a two wheel drive Jeep, anyway?
Cerberus which acquired Chrysler just at a time when the company began a slide into near financial meltdown is hoping that the new 2011 model Jeep SUVs will help to carry a revival of the company back from the brink.
The new Cerberus produced Jeeps will come with a new Pentastar 3.6 liter 290hp V6 engine that gets 23mpg. But a nice Hemi V8 with 360hp will be a sought after option by many buyers.
The Limited models get a nice Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system, but this extra luxury boosts to price tag up to $39,995. And there's a new Select-Terrain system as well, proving that the best Jeeps are the the best Jeeps ever made.
Given the strength of past Jeep sales, the new 2011 models should give Cerberus a good shot at gaining market share as buyers of some other brands might consider the redesigned Jeeps as something special to own. Cerberus needs this new model to succeed. Literally.
